Members and visitors per register. The Wor. Master sounded the gavel and together with the brethren gave the pledge of allegiance to the flag. He proceeded to seat the Lodge, fill the vacant chairs, and open the Lodge on the Third degree of Masonry for the transaction of business.

The minutes of the stated meeting of August 4, 2016 and the minutes of special meeting of August 18, 2016 were approved as corrected. (Motion to approve the minutes was made by Bro. Marcus McEwen, seconded by Bro. Paul Edison and approved by the membership)

Committee Reports:   Bro. Sandoval reported that the Lodge picnic had good weather and several of the Brethren from our Lodge and area Lodge’s attended with their families. It was felt that attendance could have been better if the time frame would have been smaller and maybe asked some members to bring members to bring some food.

Bros Hoover and Sandoval are heading up the Halloween Party. This year the party will be hosted by the Foundation. The date for the Halloween Party will be held on Saturday, October 22, 7 PM to 11 PM. Volunteers are needed, please contact Bros Sandoval and Hoover if you can help out. More information will be forth coming.

Communications:

The 177th Annual Grand Lodge Communication will be held on Friday, October 7th and Saturday, October 8th, 2016 in Springfield. Credentials and proxy cards have been received and distributed along with a copy of the proposed amendment changes. The changes include rod work for the Junior Deacon, Life Membership fees, allowing Lodges to hold raffles, and the increasing of the per capita fee from ten dollars to twenty five dollars over a three year period.

Job’s Daughters, Bethel #48, are having an Open House on Monday, September 26, at 7:30 PM, at the Joliet Masonic Temple. This is open to girls ages 10 to 20 with masonic affiliations.

Chicagoland Masonic Charities Expo will be held from 10 AM to 3 PM on Sunday, November 20, at the Scottish Rite in Bloomingdale. Several masonic charities will be in attendance to show what they are doing and what is available.
